Who Am I?
My name is Andy Warwick, and I’m a freelance designer and developer, trading as Creed New Media, based in Nottingham, East Midlands, UK.
I’ve been running my own business for the last 12 years, first as a Sole Trader, and then as a Limited Company for the last 6½ years. In that time I’ve seen the market change considerably, and have spent many hours honing my skills to keep up-to-date with technology and offer the best all round knowledge and experience.
What I Do
I am an iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) App developer, with a strong background in Graphic Design, Web Development and FileMaker Pro database programming.
While I still do work of that nature occasionally, right now I am concentrating on app development for the Apple platform; I’m a strong believer if you spread yourself too thin you won’t have time to master any single skill, and the work you produce will be weaker for it.
Native iOS Apps
Other suppliers often use open-source frameworks—like jQTouch, Titanium Mobile and Phonegap—and produce HTML-based ‘Mobile Apps’. While often okay, and serve a purpose, for many users they aren’t a good fit.
I use the official Apple development kit and the Objective-C programming language, to take complete advantage of the iOS hardware capabilities. I write fully ‘native’ apps, capable of giving the best experience on the platform.
